PRAYER FOR A BABY IN HER MOTHER'S WOMB
O God of all creation,
nurture and protect this tiny child and keep her safe in the sanctuary of her mother's womb.
As you so wondrously form her heart and mind and lungs and soul, so strengthen our will to lovingly nurture and protect her.
Give us the eyes to see her as our sister, the minds to welcome her as our own, and the faith to defend her as your child.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, our Blessed Mother, and the mother of all the little ones, through Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.

FIRST COMMUNION
Again this year, the 9:00 AM Family mass will be more child oriented. The Eucharistic Prayer will be from the Children's Lectionary and the homily will be directed toward the children. On October 5th the children who will be receiving their First Communion this spring will be welcomed into the parish preparation program for First Communion at the 9:00 AM Family Mass.
The children are to gather as a group in the front of the church on the Tabernacle side. There will be a Children's Mass Book and Hymnal provided so the congregation will be able to follow the Mass and join in the responses.
It is our hope that families will also attend the Mass and participate by singing the hymns and join in the responses.
Each week a different grade will be invited to sit as a group in the front of the church.
The October 5th Family Mass is part of the Sacramental preparation for First Communion.

QUILTERS MASS - Today, October 5th at 10:30 AM. Following the Mass, the quilts will be on display in the
small hall. We will also raffle off some quilts as a fundraiser for our group. Thank you for your support.

SUNDAY SCRIPTURE AND REFLECTIONS - Tuesday, October 7th, the Scripture Study Group will meet in the
Sacred Heart Chapel following the 9:00 AM Mass. All are welcome to join us for an hour as we prayerfully reflect on the Readings for the coming Sunday Liturgy.

PARISH BOOK STORE -For our parishioner's convenience books and other religious articles will be available for purchase before and after the Sunday Masses one or two times a month beginning November 15th. Our church is very limited to space so the items will be displayed in the center entrance on Beach 129th Street. This is a trial endeavor and we are looking for volunteers to assist so that our "store" is open every weekend. A book is a great gift for all occasions.
